CATCH XXII DUO

Catch XXII Duo strives to make an impact on the percussion community through the commissioning of new works that highlight rising composers, stretch the boundaries of the percussion canon, and support underrepresented groups of people. Hailing from the upstate of South Carolina, the duo was formed in 2017 by Emily and Layne from a mutual love for the performance and teaching of percussion. Since then, the team has grown to include videographer Dillon Holzheimer and audio engineer Mary Lindsey.  The group is currently working on a multi-year recording project, The Trevino Project, in addition to commissioning several composers to write new works for upcoming programs.

The Trevino Project is a multi-year recording project that started in the summer of 2018.  The final product will include video and audio recordings of every percussion duet composed by prominent percussionist and composer Ivan Trevino.  The vision for this project is that the collection can be utilized as a reference for both students and educators when preparing Trevino’s works.  Catch XXII has released two of the duets to date and is preparing for a substantial recording session in the summer of 2020. The projected completion date of the project is Fall of 2021.
